Patricia Bonaldi, PatBO Founder and Creative Director, showcased her Spring/Summer 2022 Collection for New York Fashion Week (NYFW) on September 8th at the Le Pavillon restaurant. She hosted her first in-person runway show during New York Fashion Week at modernist space located on Vanderbilt Avenue in NYC. The all-glass atrium is filled with natural light, exotic plants, and the tranquil feeling of being far removed from the city outside.
Bonaldi sought to amplify the elements of her designs by incorporating fringe trims, sophisticated cut-outs, and intricate hand-beading and embroidery for her debut runway collection. Every piece shows her devotion to craftsmanship and empowering talented artisans in Brazil.
For the NYFW show, supermodel and Brazil native Alessandra Ambrosio opened the Spring/Summer 2022 show. Amrobisio adorned a pair of menswear trousers cut from fluide linen fabric with a corset-style waistband and coordinating bralette as well as closed the show in plunge long sleeve beach dress, a PatBO signature silhouette.
Natural elements, always a prominent part of Bonaldi’s designs, this season include wood beads, feathers, and jute trims. Her naturalistic approach extended to the models’ hair and makeup. Simple Organic, an all-natural beauty brand from Brazil, created dewy complexions and strong brows.
The color palette is decidedly more neutral with shades of gold, camel, and bone. A single pop of Bubblegum Pink appears on one of the sure-to-be crowd favorites – a silky, plume-trimmed gown aptly named the “Oscar” dress.
With a background in couture, it was important for Bonaldi to also show her ability to create classic tailored styles that feel fresh and modern. Blazer-style mini dresses are updated with rib cage cut-outs and hand-embroidered lapels.
Reinforcing the brand’s efforts to give back to Bonaldi’s home country, PatBO will donate 10% of online net sales for the month of September to Amigos Do Bem, a non-profit organization that improves the lives of residents living in the hinterland region of northeast Brazil through education, work and income projects while also promoting access to health care, water and housing.
The collection will be available for Pre-Order at www.patbo.com today, September 9th.
PatBO is a Brazilian brand that captures the vibrant energy of South America through it’s artfully hand-embroidered RTW and Swim Collection. Born and raised in Brazil, Founder & Creative Director Patricia Bonaldi began her career by opening a multi-brand store in her hometown of Uberlândia. Soon after, she began receiving requests to design her own collection, launching her eponymous label. Today, the richly detailed embroidery and bold prints that are a hallmark of the label is a perfect example of the brand’s commitment to both technical expertise and boundless imagination.
Rather than outsourcing this, Patricia Bonaldi established a school in her hometown for the express purpose of teaching local women this special craft. Today, hundreds of local men and women are empowered by the skills they have acquired. PatBO is now sold in 20 different countries and available in more than 150 stores globally including Net-a-Porter, Bergdorf Goodman, FWRD, Saks Fifth Avenue and Moda Operandi.
