Apple’s Announcements on Day 1 of WWDC 2017

Today at the World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC) in San Jose, Apple had several announcements including iOS 11, WatchOS 4, HomePod, the new iPad Pro and iMac Pro, and a preview of the all-new and redesigned Apple App Store plus several more announcements.

Uber and Lyft in Austin: One Week Later

Last week Uber and Lyft returned to Austin after leaving the city high and dry over a year ago after Austin voted 56% to 44% against Proposition 1 which would have allowed ride-hailing companies to continue using their own background check systems. As of May 7th Austin went ahead with plans to require fingerprint background checks and other regulations. Both Uber and Lyft then announced they will no longer operate in the city as a result of the loss. The world was shocked after hearing about the Ariana Grande Concert terrorist incident that happened yesterday in Manchester. Reported by NBC as of now there are 22 fatalities including children and 59 injured plus several people are still missing from this tragic event. As of now those that live in the area or nearby are urged to stay away per Mayor Andy Burham until further notice. Per Mayor Andy Burnham’s tweet for those stranded in the area and have access to twitter use #RoomForManchester where hotels and local people are offering refuge.
