With less than a week to the election, “Every Vote Counts – A Celebration of Democracy”, nationally televised and streamed event, will air on CBS and iHeartMedia radio stations and app TONIGHT, Thursday, October 29, 2020 at 9:00 p.m. ET. It will also be available digitally on Friday, October 30, 2020 at 9 p.m. ET across Apple Music, Apple TV App, NowThis, YouTube, Twitter, TIDAL, Facebook and more.
Hosted by Alicia Keys, America Ferrera, and Kerry Washington, with appearances by Amy Schumer, Cobie Smulders, Coldplay, Condoleezza Rice, Eva Longoria, Jennifer Lopez, Kelly Clarkson, Leonardo DiCaprio, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Natalie Portman, Shaquille O’Neal, Tan France, Wilmer Valderrama and more with performances by Alicia Keys, Brandi Carlile, Dan + Shay, Offset, Every Vote Counts will honor and celebrate the power of voting through music, dance, and dialogue. Artists, musicians, performers, and community leaders will come together for a nonpartisan celebration of American democracy, with the goal to uplift the power of civic action and celebrate the precious value of every single citizen’s right to vote.
The special will feature musical performances, interviews with everyday voters, and speakers empowering citizens with incontrovertible information on how to vote and allay concerns they may have around voting amid a pandemic. Viewers will also be asked to create their voting plans and build their voting teams.
Every Vote Counts is an appeal to all Americans – all races, creeds and parties – to get to the polls in the final days of this election season. The nonpartisan special will remind viewers that the right to vote has been hard fought, fair elections must be protected, and above all a strong democracy depends on participation. The special will aim to inspire viewers to rally their families and communities to go to the polls.
