Welle: Turn Any Surface Into A Smart Interface

I was just notified about a new Kickstarter Campaign announced today on a potential consumer product called Welle. In a world of “smart” everything, including tooth brushes, I have become rather jaded about the multitude of “smart” products on the market currently. Nothing seems to jump out to me anymore as a cool or innovative product with a market saturated with “smart” devices. I seriously got pitched on “smart” toilet paper holder, no joke! SXSW Interactive 2017 Recap; Part Duex

SXSW Interactive had so many great technology demos, events and parties that carried on through the entire festival, which has been rare in the years past. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to cover all the technology events; next year I should have a telepresence to cover everything I can’t. I didn’t make it to Youtube, Pandora, Capital One at the infamous Antone’s, OtterBox uniVERSE Case System, Mashable and many more.

While planning my SXSW schedule I picked out the below events based on my personal preferences. These four events were very fun and their lounges and or parties had a ton of interactive demos to try out during SXSW. Continue Reading →

SXSW 2017 Interactive Recap; Part One

SXSW (South By South West) this year is the first year that I covered it solely for Hi-Tech Chic and it proved to be a very successful SXSW thus far as press. It was also the first time I did LIVE broadcasting via twitter and Facebook which was also an interesting experience for those listening, commenting and following my LIVE broadcast. I must admit cell coverage was non-existent during SX so I dropped the broadcast every so often. My apologies who got dropped off the broadcast and thanks for tuning in! Continue Reading →

SXSW® Interactive Innovation Awards 2017

I have never attended the SXSW Interactive Innovation Awards before this year. I promise I always made a valiant effort but for those who have attended SXSW understand the events, films, and live music are overwhelming. Proudly this year folks “I MADE IT!”

It was held at the Austin downtown Hilton location which was very convenient to the Austin Convention Center. The ceremony was slow going and frankly not that entertaining then again it’s the SXSW Interactive Innovation Awards so I should not be too harsh. Continue Reading →

SXSW 2017 Film Festival Starts Tomorrow! Do You Have Your Pocket Guide?

The SXSW 2017 Film Festival will host nine days of screenings starting tomorrow till March 18th. This year the film festival has a diverse film lineup, programming ranges from independent films by new filmmakers to Hollywood comedies and genre standouts.

For the first time the film festival will run simultaneously with SXSW Interactive and SXSW Music which is AWESOME! I love the convergence between all the festivals this year, truly lets you experience at least 2 festivals with just one badge. Those attending the film festival will have the unique opportunity to connect with tech and music industry experts. Continue Reading →

Note from Editor: Hi-Tech Chic’s Journey for 2017

As of last week I will no longer be writing for Cutegeek.com. My main focus will now be growing and building up this site, Hi-Tech Chic.

Hi-Tech Chic has been off to a great start this year with events like CES 2017 in Las Vegas. I experienced more robots than I have ever seen, the drone rodeo in the desert and several different booths with virtual reality. Needless to say it was a blast!

Another great event I attended was GDC in San Francisco and the AMD launch events including the after party with Mix Master Mike, which was AWESOME! Continue Reading →

Snoop Dogg Joins Artists Advocacy Panel at SXSW Conference

WWWWHHHHHHAAAAATTTTT?!?!?!?! I never and I mean never go to panels anymore mostly because they are boring and I’m a class clown which has gotten me in trouble before while at a panel. I have a feeling that this will not be a boring panel far from in fact! So bummed I only have my press badge SXSW for interactive and gaming only. Maybe some nice person will take pity on me and let me in, afterall I am one of Snoops his biggest fan! Here is the official press release from SXSW: Continue Reading →

AMD’s 2017 GDC and Ryzen 7 Announcements

GDC (Game Developers Conference) happened last week in San Francisco at the Moscone Convention Center from February 27th through March 3rd. I went this year to GDC and AMD was one of my favorite announcements plus they had a killer after party with Mix Master Mike. In all honesty I am an AMD girl and have been waiting on their new launch of their products that will hopefully prevail over their competitors. Continue Reading →
