SXSW Announces Five Important Changes for the New Year

As we start the New Year, South by Southwest (SXSW), the global conference and festival, has five of the most important changes for the 2024 SXSW Conference. SXSW takes place throughout downtown Austin from March 8, 2024 through March 16, 2023.

  • Longer Tech Industry Track:
    • For 2024, the ever-popular Tech Industry track now runs from Friday, March 8 through Friday, March 15, including more than 50 sessions. Content covered over these eight days ranges from quantum computing, Web3 and cybersecurity to global tech hotspots, accessibility and much much more.
  • Three New Tracks:
  • More Workshops:
    • Receive extended, hands-on learning on topics that are most relevant to your career via our generous selection of workshops. Look for almost 60 of these workshops in 2024, about 20 more than last year.
  • More SXXpress Passes:
    • The SXXpress Pass system gives registrants the ability to get to the front of the line for a number of sessions and events. For 2024, Platinum registrants have access to five SXXpress Passes per day, while Interactive registrants can now use up to four.
  • More Robust SXSW EDU Crossover Day:
    • Thursday, March 7 is Crossover Day, which means that all SXSW registrants can attend all SXSW EDU panels and presentations. So arrive in Austin a day early for the 2024 event to attend even more compelling content!

Registration prices increase at the end of the day on Thursday, January 11, so register now to save big. Additional discounts available for groups, students and recent college grads. After purchasing, reserve your lodging via the SXSW Housing & Travel department.
