Camden International Film Festival Announces New 12-Day Creative Virtual Experience And Livestream Events For Fall 2020

This year film festivals have had to change their game plan by moving to virtual and Livestream events due to the pandemic. The Camden International Film Festival (CIFF) organized by Points North Institute announced new plans for the 2020 festival with the goal to directly support independent filmmakers and collaboratively create spaces for community-building, organizing and collective imagination. This year’s CIFF and Points North Forum will a 12-day creative virtual experience with dozens of Livestream events, alongside the launch of the festival’s very own drive-in movie theatre, and screenings at a small number of reduced-capacity theatres in Maine.

Vail Film Festival and Stage 32 Partner for the 2020 Festival

Since the cancellation of Film Festivals as of March Stage 32 has been screening over 100 features, shorts, and episodic pilots from SXSW, Tribeca, and Telluride Mountainfilm Documentary Festival throughout their network. Announced today, Stage 32 is adding the infamous Vail Film Festival (VFF) to the Stage 32 Screenings lineup. Stage 32 also announced that they are the official networking and education partner of the Vail Film Festival.

‘SXSW 2020 Pilot Showcase’ Makes Vimeo Debut This April 2020

With South by Southwest (SXSW) Film festival 2020 being canceled, their team has been working non-stop to find ways to showcase films and pilots that would have premiered during the festival. SXSW announced this week a group of filmmakers officially selected for the 2020 SXSW Episodic Pilot Competition are launching an ‘SXSW 2020 Pilot Showcase’ on Vimeo, a streaming event to preview diversity led (more than half LGBTQ content and creators) pilots from the festival for free to global audiences, starting on April 14th, 2020.

Laurel Canyon: A Place in Time is a documentary about a unique time in music history where musicians, hippies and creative types all lived in a rustic canyon in the heart of Los Angeles in the 1960’s and 1970’s.
