iWomanTV & New York Women in Film & Television Present 6th Annual NYWIFT Online Shorts Festival

iWomanTV, a 24-hour digital streaming news and entertainment network focused on delivering everyday news through a female lens, in collaboration with New York Women in Film & Television (NYWIFT) presents the 6th Annual NYWIFT Online Shorts Festival. Showcasing the dynamic work of women filmmakers, the festival is available for streaming on iWomanTV throughout August. It features 60 official selections that highlight the accomplishments and talents of women storytellers, producers, directors, photographers, and editors.

In 1977, NYWIFT was established by a handful of women who saw a pressing need in New York for a networking and education forum for women in the entertainment industry. 45 years later, NYWIFT’s diverse membership is made up of professionals who work in all aspects of television, film, and media, from behind-the-scenes to in front of the camera to the executive suite.

The professional diversity of the NYWIFT membership is reflected in the Online Shorts Festival selections, with members serving as directors, writers, producers, actors, composers, editors, art directors, wardrobe supervisors, production designers, costumer designers, and makeup artists.

Created by Emmy Award-winning journalist, producer, actress and fellow NYWIFT member, Cathleen Trigg-Jones, iWomanTV stands as a movement to empower women and girls through content that reflects their diverse stories and experiences. Highlighting the accomplishments and talents of women through the lens of female storytellers, producers, directors, photographers and editors, iWomanTV is not just another network.

Trigg-Jones emphasizes that the iWoman movement symbolizes a clarion call to action, empowering women to achieve their limitless potential. In addition to its extensive library of series, films, talk shows, and “The iWoman Report,” iWomanTV will soon launch on Amazon, Apple, Android, and iOS devices, expanding its accessibility to a wider audience.

To celebrate this creative spirit, iWomanTV will host the “Audience Choice Award” competition throughout August. The project with the highest views will win a $1,000 cash prize, with the second and third place winners receiving $500 and $250 respectively. Additionally, the top three winners will have the opportunity to be featured on iWoman’s Creator Conversations series. The winners of the Audience Choice Award will be announced on iWomanTV on September 14th.

All of the official selections of the film festival agreed to distribute their content on iWomanTV as well as the opportunity to pitch and partner on future projects.
