FOR MADMEN ONLY is a documentary about the comedic legend, Del Close, that shows his journey of creating his autobiography for D.C. Comics titled “Wasteland.” Del Close co-authored the graphic horror anthology with John Ostrander and one story in almost every issue of Wasteland was an embellished portrayal taken from the comedian’s intriguing life. The 90-minute documentary directed by Heather Ross was slated to have its world premiere during the now canceled South By Southwest (SXSW) 2020 Film Festival as part of the Documentary Feature Competition category.

SXSW 2020 Film Review: WE DON’T DESERVE DOGS

WE DON’T DESERVE DOGS is a compelling documentary about man’s best friend from Brooklyn based documentary filmmaking duo and SXSW alumns Matthew Salleh and Rose Tucker that was to premiere during SXSW 2020. They work together on the film as a two-person crew with Matthew as director and cinematographer and Rose as a producer and sound recordist. The cancellation of the 2020 SXSW Festival and Conferences due to concerns of the health and safety of attendees due to the Coronavirus has left several artists without venues to perform or screen their films. Furthermore, SXSW hugely impacts all local businesses, venues and restaurants in Austin bringing in nearly $300 million into the city which will now be lost revenue. CANCELED: SKYLAB 2020 Party Will Proceed as Planned Bringing 29 Austin Bands To Scholz Garten

Even though SXSW 2020 is canceled, ALL SYSTEMS ARE GO for next Thursday, March 19, as Spaceflight Records and Mosaic Sound Collective host the inaugural liftoff of “SKYLAB 2020,” a day and night party featuring a lineup of 29 of Austin’s top local artists. The SKYLAB 2020 event kicks off at 11 a.m. through 2 a.m. at Austin’s historic Scholz Garten, located at 1607 San Jacinto, Austin, Texas 78701.

The City of Austin Announces Cancellation of SXSW 2020 March Events Due to the Coronavirus

Even though there were concerns and petitions to cancel the SXSW 2020 Conference and Festival due to the massive spread of the coronavirus as of this morning it was still on surprisingly! Announced today, March 6th and just one week before the infamous SXSW Conference and Festival, the City of Austin have canceled the March dates for SXSW and SXSW EDU. SXSW has stated today that they will faithfully follow the City’s directions.

South By Southwest 2020 Announces Comedy Festival Line-Up

The world premiere of OUTCRY will be ahead of its television premiere on SHOWTIME on Friday, April 3 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Today, SHOWTIME has released the official trailer and poster art for the new documentary series ahead of the world premiere.

For the first year, you don’t need a credential to attend the SXSW free events!
