HeySunday, a brand known for its plant-based Laundry Detergent Sheets, has launched their Earth Day Hero Challenge. Applicants can make a difference this Earth Day by cleaning up their local rivers or parks and earning $1000 plus more.

For their inaugural Earth Day Hero Challenge, HeySunday is recruiting three Earth Day Heros to lead our charge against single-use plastics. These environmental enthusiasts will collect 10 pounds of trash from a local natural area, then share their journey in a 500-word essay, discussing their experiences and insights into sustainability.

Each director will receive $1,000 and a year’s supply of eco-friendly laundry detergent, celebrating their contribution to a greener Earth.

Earth Day Hero Challenge Information

Who they are looking for:

Anyone 18 or older, passionate about the outdoors and sustainability, and residing in the U.S.

Who They Want to Hire:

• They’re looking to hire 3 people as their Directors of Earth Day Cleanup who are passionate about sustainability and making their earth more beautiful than we found it. Their ideal candidates love exploring the outdoors and learning new ways to incorporate environmentally-friendly practices into their daily lives. 

What You’ll Be Doing:

• To further our mission to rid the planet of single-use plastics, Directors of Earth Day Cleanup will be tasked with collecting 10 pounds of trash from a nearby natural area that holds significance to them. You can choose a park, forest, river, local reservoir, or any natural area you believe could benefit from the cleanup. Whether you complete this task solo, with family, or alongside friends, and all at once or over a few days is entirely up to you!

• After you’ve collected 10 pounds of trash from a local area, write a 500-word essay about your experience and thoughts on the impact of sustainability. You can discuss how you felt after seeing the area free of trash, observations like what types of trash were most common, or ways that you believe we can incorporate eco-friendly practices into our lives to keep these areas clean and healthy for the next generation. How you describe your experience is your choice.
