Great LGBTQ Sites for Pride Month Events, Parades and Gear

June was chosen for LGBTQ Pride Month to commemorate the Stonewall riots, which occurred at the end of June 1969. As a result, many pride events are held during this month to recognize the impact LGBTQ people have had in the world. On June 2, 2000, President Bill Clinton declared June “Gay & Lesbian Pride Month” a blatant difference from our current president who remains tight lipped about Pride. No shocker there!

Throughout June a city near you that acknowledges the LGBTQ community will be holding several different events throughout the month. A great site to see what is going on nationally is http://www.gaypridecalendar.com/ which not only has a calendar of Pride events but also a resist guide where you can post your LGBTQ event during pride month. They also have a Gay Pride News and Events Calendar Blog that includes posts about current sales and coupons for LGBTQ gear.

A great site that also posts LGBTQ events on an international level is https://www.nighttours.com/ which post not only Pride events and guides to pride events but has information on gay destinations, cruises, clubs, sauna and hotels as well. The Night Tours site also has an ongoing list of daily LGBTQ international parties currently happening on their homepage.

When I attended Pride when I lived in San Francisco one of the most fun but important things to have for the event was some colorful gear, flags and accessories! LGBTShirts.com is a great place to find Pride and LGBTQ themed flags, apparel, stickers, buttons, hats and several other accessories. On LGBTShirt.com you can also customize your own garment or accessory with your own Pride or LGBTQ theme.

Another site for apparel and accessories is LGBTResistance.com which has shirts, banners, buttons, and hats and a few other accessories but not nearly as vast as LGBTShirts.com. Currently LGBTResistance.com has about 45 different shirts that are 15% Off with code: ZAZZLEGIFT50. They also have banners that say quotes like “We Resist We Rise” and “Justice is what love looks like in Public” which LGBTShirts.com does not have.

As a reminder for all those participating in LGBTQ events on the weekend of June 10th & 11th HRC will hold “Weekend of Action” events coast to coast which is also during the “Equality March for Unity and Pride” in Washington and the “Resist March” in Los Angeles. HRC will be supporting both marches and will host an Action Center at Washington, D.C., headquarters, where volunteers and visitors can engage in grassroots advocacy training, writing letters to elected officials and learning about unique social media opportunities. For more information about the weekend of action click here to view my article on events happening that weekend.

There are several other sites that offer similar services or products but all these sites seem to have more products that are unique and post more events than other sites I have checked out.

March with us June 11th for human rights and for the LGBTQ community in hopes of one day we will all make a difference and we will all be equal.
