GAUCHERE Introduces New Spring 2022 Collection

To overcome established mindsets and reunite in an open society with respect for nature and one another is the theme of designer and founder of GAUCHERE, Marie-Christine Statz’s latest collection. With its translucent character and the expansion of gender-fluid garments, the Spring 2022 collection expresses Statz’s prevailing mood for her designs.

The Spring 2022 Collection’s 24 looks are enhanced by the warm earthy color palette of golden yellows, beige hues, soft roses, and lavender as well as light brown and chartreuse green accents. Trousers and tops open up with full-length zippers. Shirts, jackets, and bodysuits come with circular cut-outs.

The signature shirting and suiting is made of open weaved summer viscose, tie-dye cotton, or a cotton tweed. Next to the soft fabrics, by removing collars and buttons of the jackets and showing trousers with color-block and material mix, the suiting is given a casual feel. Curved button plackets and mix of fluid and rigid materials enhance the rounded shapes.

To create a fluid drape, backless tops and dresses are constructed out of panels of crushed viscose. The trans-seasonal approach of the house to create a personal armor that offers protection without constriction is translated into a series of soft, padded knitwear styles. It is made of superfine eco-cotton and padded with recycled fibers.

GAUCHERE is a French prêt-à-porter house founded in 2013 by the designer Marie-Christine Statz. Her vision is to create garments that point out the individual. At the heart of GAUCHERE are the art of tailoring, the appreciation of materials as they are and the translation in pure geometric structures and sculptural volumes.

Marie-Christine’s intuitive designs are expressing the mood of today while aiming for permanence and timelessness. The GAUCHERE community is progressive. It is an active participant in today’s society. “Live and let live” is not just a phrase for them but an attitude towards life.
