Donation Sites for California Wildfire Victims

Throughout 2018 there has been a total of 7,579 California Wildfires that has burned an area of 1,667,855 acres (6,749.57 km2), the largest amount of burned acreage recorded in a California fire season, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection and the National Interagency Fire Center. Though President Donald Trump has approved a Major Disaster Declaration for the California Wildfires victims still need assistance as they rummage through what is left of their burnt home. Below are some sites that are accepting donations for the California wildfire fire victims.

Direct Relief

As of now, Direct Relief continues to deploy emergency resources throughout California in response to the deadly wildfires burning in the Northern and Southern parts of the State. Below is what Direct Relief has just recently done to help the wildfires victims thus far.

  • The organization worked over the past weekend, delivering more than 20,000 N-95 respirators, 20 oxygen concentrators and critically needed medicine on Saturday to the Butte County Public Health Department in Oroville, California.
  • On Monday another 40,000 N-95 masks departed Direct Relief’s Santa Barbara warehouse for various locations throughout Los Angeles County.
  • Direct Relief maintains a standing inventory of items needed during wildfires, such as N-95 masks and respiratory medication.

California Community Foundation

The California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Relief Fund supports intermediate and long-term recovery efforts for major California wildfires, as well as preparedness efforts. Grants from the Wildfire Relief Fund have supported those who:

  • Were displaced or lost housing, belongings and/or employment
  • Have suffered physical or mental health problems
  • Need help to rebuild homes
  • In need of case management services, basic needs assistance, mental health services and financial assistance
  • Need follow-up medical care and supplies, respiratory equipment and information to people with lung disease

Global Giving Fund

Global Giving Fund currently has a goal to raise $1,000,000 for the California Wildfire victims and have already raised $12,119. The Global Giving Fund will provide relief to people impacted by the fires in the form of emergency supplies like food, water, and medicine, in addition to longer-term recovery assistance to help residents recover and rebuild.

Hope Heroes NFP is an Illinois-based grassroots nonprofit organization with a passion for providing hope to humanitarian crisis victims in their time of hardship.
