Viewed in more than 150 countries, BattleBots World Championship VII will be the seventh season of BattleBots since its return to television in 2015, and the fifth season since the Discovery network picked the show up from ABC. The world’s premier robot combat invites fans to witness world-class fighting machines and the globe’s top-ranked bots as they battle to the death in the hopes of being crowned the BattleBots World Champion.

Presented by hosts Chris Rose and Kenny Florian, as well as the formidable, booming voice of ring announcer Faruq Tauheed, the seventh season of the popular show will air on Discovery Channel early next year.

This year’s field includes the best 50 bots in the world, with teams from the United States, Europe, Asia, New Zealand, Australia and South America, who will travel to Las Vegas with their fighting machines to slug it out in a series of battles to the death. The audience will witness the awesome spectacle of robot-on-robot, gear-grinding mayhem and see their favorite bots, including Whiplash, Witch Doctor, Hydra, Tantrum, HyperShock, Minotaur, End Game, SawBlaze and more. Also fighting this season is local favorite, Jackpot, built by Las Vegas local Jeff Waters.

The ultimate winner will take home the greatest prize in the sport: The Giant Nut, which is currently held by the United States’ Tantrum, a puncher robot from Team Seems Reasonable, co-captained by Alex Grant and Ginger Schmidt. Alongside the World Championship, BattleBots is also filming the second season of “BattleBots: Champions,” with its prestigious prize, The Golden Bolt, currently held by End Game from New Zealand.

From October 18 – 30 there will be three ticketed sessions on Saturdays (12 p.m., 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.) and two ticketed sessions on all other scheduled days (12 p.m. and 6 p.m.), culminating in the crowning of the 7th BattleBots World Champion. Each session lasts between three and four hours. Dark days for the live show will take place on Oct. 20, 24 and 27.

Las Vegas’ Own Team Jackpot:

With the home field advantage this year, Team Jackpot creator Jeff Waters fully intends to keep the Giant Nut in Vegas. Waters discovered robotics as a kid by watching the original BattleBots and even created his own arena in his garage and began hosting small competitions. Eventually, Waters sought to grow the robotics community in Las Vegas and created Vegas Combat Robots – his own robotics club. Jackpot is a weapon-focused robot with a dual vertical blade spinner called the Double Diamond. Team Jackpot has stayed true to their Vegas aesthetic by incorporating slot machine pull arms for the self-righter system and bottom-lit Lexan panels. They hold a season 6 record of 3-1 after being knocked out in the Round of 16.

Space is limited. For more information and to purchase tickets, go to battlebots.com/tickets. Children under 16 must also be accompanied by an adult. Tickets are non-refundable.
