Tonight, the ATX Fashion Week runway shows commence, with 4 days of fashion shows and pop-ups. Due to inclement weather, most of the shows will now be at Barton Creek Mall (2901 S. Capital of Texas Hwy; 78746) instead of the Domain.
For those attending the shows, you must enter through the doors between AMC Theater and Cheesecake Factory (park near there, too, because that will be the only exit available once the mall closes at 9:00 pm). Walk straight and you’ll be in the event space.
- Wednesday, May 6 | 6:00 pm @ Knotty Deck at the Renaissance Arboretum –– KICKOFF. Hobknob with the Austin fashion industry while enjoying bites and cocktails provided by Knotty Deck. Vintage runway presentation featuring Hedonist Vintage, For Keeps Vintage, Pecos Jane Vintage all styled and directed by Camille Cross.
- Thursday, May 7 | 7:00 pm @ Barton Creek Mall –– EMERGE. EMERGE will feature 7 emerging designer brands from across Texas. Featured brands include PHBE GB, Lady Ash Design, Studio Guillermo Rios, Yoga Democracy, INKXKNI, Luna Loren and Valpine.
- Thursday, May 7 | 8:30 pm @ Barton Creek Mall –– INCUBATE Presented by ACC Fashion Incubator. The show will feature designers from current and prior cohorts with the Austin Community College Fashion Incubator along with graduating designers from the ACC Fashion Design program. Brand are still being added, but look for AFW favorites Sticky Gold, Lorenza, Huhvah, Martagoni and OUJ.
- Friday, May 8 | 7:00 pm @ Barton Creek Mall –– DISCOVER. Discover new and emerging brands with a multi-cultural bent. Featured designers include Bummi, Zarbzar, Angel Saint Martin, Aroha by Ambika, Pinx by Xenos, VWear Love and Kianya.
- Friday, May 8 | 8:30 pm @ Barton Creek Mall –– Black Designer Showcase Presented by Austin Area Urban League. Austin Area Urban League is back providing scholarship opportunities specifically to support Black designers in Austin and beyond. Style Strutter Dr. Chiquita Watt Eugene will walk the catwalk in support Black Mamas Village, one of the official Austin Fashion Week nonprofit partners. Showing brands include Laurent Flaneur, Axel, Frekls, Maivans, Fashion Disorder, 12:22, ASPS Luxury and Dominion.
- Saturday, May 9 | 1:30 pm –– FAMILY. For the cutest show during AFW, support 6 incredible designers that are creating what’s next for kids, teens and young adults. Featured brands include Julianna Corazon (led by 9 year old Julianna), Wanda Beauchamp Girls Couture, Solu’s Design, Mila Hoffman, Isabella Zimprich (9 year old designer and model), and Young Gods.
- Saturday, May 9 | 3:30 pm –– SUSTAIN Presented by Goodwill Central Texas. Back this Spring in partnership with Goodwill, SUSTAIN features 14 designers and stylists upcycling looks from the bins at Goodwill. Clothes left to die are given a new high fashion life by featured brands Mama K, Honey Fatale, LeeLeeYana, Lauren Elizabeth, Styled by Jasmine Angelica, Wacko, Dellkat, Mixd Fashion, Bring Back the Weird, I3Essential, Furry Fashions Designs, CarlettesCreativeCouture, The Style Lyfe and BMatchy.
- Saturday, May 9 | 8:00 pm –– LAUNCH787 Presented by Saving Face. The closing night show will highlight the work of 10 of the brightest designers from right here in Austin, Texas. Style Strutter Brooke Nichol will don the catwalk dressed by Cookie Monster Vintage in support of Spaceflight Records, Austin’s only nonprofit record label. Catch brands before they blow up: BMatchy, TheMoonsAlibi Collection, Treasures Redeemed, Dellkat, Jomper, Lorraine, Lamesk8, Opheila Lorrain, Burgos Bikinis and Arsuri.
Pop Up Shops featuring jewelry, accessories and clothing will be open to ticket-holders and non ticket-holders beginning at 6:00 pm Thursday and Friday and at Noon on Saturday. Pop Ups include Surovler, Jewels by Nelle, ML Joyas, Treasures Redeemed, Zarbzar, VWear Love, Lorenza and OUJ.
