The annual South By Southwest (SXSW) Conference & Festivals hosted in the heart of downtown Austin, Texas, will take place from March 10th through the 19th in 2023. This week it was announced that the 2023 SXSW Conference & Festivals are now open for PanelPicker®, Music Festival, SXSW Pitch, and the SXSW Art Program.
SXSW 2023 Festival Updates
PanelPicker® is a two-step online process that gives attendees a significant voice in Conference programming for SXSW and SXSW EDU. FYI, before you send them your session idea for SXSW 2023, take a look through PanelPicker’s history, the application process, and how selection works. The final deadline is July 24, 2022, and the community voting will take place August 9-21, 2022.
For the SXSW Music Festival showcasing artists that would like to enhance their careers by reaching new audiences at the SXSW Music Festival, the early deadline is August 12, 2022, and the final deadline is October 7, 2022.
SXSW Pitch competition, allows startups to pitch in front of a live audience and a panel of expert judges. The early deadline is September 9, 2022 and the final deadline is November 13, 2022.
The SXSW Art Program is an open call to studios, designers, collectives, and individual artists whose work is either in medium or concept, is at the intersection of art and technology, or creates an experience, whether through immersion or social engagement. The early deadline is July 14, 2022 and final deadline is July 21, 2022.
SXSW 2023 Australia Announcement
Additionally, SXSW also announced that the conference and festivals are expanding beyond Austin, Texas to bring tech, film, and music industries to Sydney, Australia across seven days and nights from October 15-22, 2023!
Per the announcement, SXSW Sydney will be an exploration of the best in Music, Screen, Gaming, Technology, and Innovation. Like SXSW in Austin, SXSW Sydney will be a must-attend event for creators and professionals seeking to shape and discover future trends, emerging technology, and access unrivaled networking opportunities.
