BET Hip Hop Awards 2017 and New Fall Season Line-Up

It’s almost less than two hours away from the BET Hip Hop Awards airing at 7:00pm central on the BET Channel. This year it will be hosted by none other than the best, DJ Khaled. The Categories for the BET Hip Hop Awards include the below. Click on each link to find out who the nominees are.

This year’s Hip Hop Honoree is Luther Roderick Campbell an American record label owner, rap performer, promoter, and actor. He is best known as a one-time member and leader of rap group 2 Live Crew.

BET Her:

All New Lip Sync Battle:

The Emmy® nominated Spike original series features celebrities going head to head lip-syncing the song of their choice battling for the coolest bragging rights on the planet. The series is a ratings and multiplatform superstar for Spike and is the most-watched original series in network history. This season will include, just to drop a few names, LL COOL J, Chrissy Teigen, Remy Ma and many more. For more information click here:

The Mane Event:

Keyshia Ka’oir and Gucci Mane’s wedding is airing only on BET on October 17, 2017, at 10P/9C. Gucci and Keyshia’s wedding invite includes some of the reported guests like Drake, Rihanna, The Weeknd, Selena Gomez, Pharrell, Diddy, Rick Ross, Monica, Trina, Migos and Solange (I will be seeing Solange live at ACL this Friday – stay tuned for the live coverage via twitter). The Rundown with Robin Thede:

Robin will be the only woman of color currently hosting a late-night TV show including topics from pop culture to politics from. Robin will also be the second female current late-night host alongside Samantha Bee.

50 Central:

Hosted by 50 cent this new show is a comedy sketch that includes music performances and live pranks. I’ve watched the first show and it was somewhat funny, maybe I expect too much from 50 but then again it’s the first show so maybe the season will grow into a hysterical show, time till tell on this one. It is exciting times for BET and as a long time viewer I am enthusiastic to see the show tonight but also all the new content they have lined up for the fall!
