RedMagic, the gaming arm of Nubia, today unveiled the latest member of the RedMagic 6 Series family, the RedMagic 6R. The RedMagic 6R features cutting-edge performance for mobile gaming with a slim and light design, similar its predecessors. With global availability in June 2021, The RedMagic 6R comes in a brand-new design compared with the RedMagic 6 and the RedMagic 6 Pro.
RedMagic is 7.8mm, weighs 186 grams and features a 6.67” FHD+ AMOLED display with slim bezels on the sides plus an integrated fingerprint sensor. On the rear, it packs a powerful quad-camera module and it has a metal middle frame and plastic back.
As the new member of the RedMagic 6 series, the RedMagic 6R is incredibly fast thanks to the powerful Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 888, and super-fast LPDDR5, and UFS3.1. The CPU part uses the latest Kryo 685 architecture and adds a new Cortex-X1 super large core and can clock up to 2.84GHz, increasing the CPU performance by 25%. The GPU architecture uses the new Adreno 660, which improves the graphics rendering performance by 35%, enabling players to run complex scenes from large games smoothly and without stuttering.
The RedMagic 6R features a staggeringly fast display that supports up to 144Hz refresh rate and 360Hz touch sampling rate. The screen offers an adaptive refresh rate that can be switched among 30Hz/60Hz/90Hz/120Hz/144Hz. The 6.67” FHD+ AMOLED display also has a screen ratio of 20:9 and a resolution of 2400*1080. The color performance is excellent with the stunning depth of color of 10bit and full DCI-P3. The peak brightness is 770 nits which makes every detail vivid and sharp even on a sunny day.
The RedMagic 6R also inherits the best gaming features elaborated by RedMagic. With the 400Hz shoulder triggers, it delivers a console-level mobile gaming experience. The 144Hz refresh rate and 360Hz touch sampling rate make the device extremely responsive, enabling players to hit and play faster and more accurately. As for the cooling, the VC liquid cooling and graphene heat dissipation technology are under the hood, which cools down the phone while playing graphic-intensive games.
Software-wise, the RedMagic 6R also adopts the deeply customized RedMagic OS 4.0 that is based on Android 11. Game Space is also inherited for a more customizable gaming experience. The game enhancement function can boost GPU performance and CPU performance.
The in-game Game Space offers a full range of customizable options and special features, such as mini window and screen recording. In the Game Space, the shoulder triggers can be mapped to different locations on the screen so users can press a shoulder trigger to press that spot on the screen. For example with a shooting game, users can set one trigger to aim and another to shoot just like with a normal console controller.
The RedMagic 6R is also perfect for daily use, as it’s equipped with a quad-camera setup (64MP+8MP+5MP+2MP) and a 16MP front camera. The main camera is a Sony IMX682 sensor that supports 64 megapixels, which offers better photography and videography capabilities.
For autonomy, the RedMagic 6R has a 4200mAh battery that supports 30W fast charging (China version comes with 55W fast charging). The RedMagic 6R comes with Wi-Fi 6（WIFI 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, 2.4GHz/5GHz）and 5G, providing a faster and smoother connection. Download the latest games and videos at gigabit speeds, upload replays, or stream with a low latency experience.
