May celebrates pets and benefits that pets bring to people’s lives with National Pet Month in the USA and Pet Cancer Awareness Month. It is observed annually in the United States in May and during the month of April in the United Kingdom. May is also Pet Cancer Awareness Month with goals to inform pet owners of the potential dangers their pet may face from cancer. Pet Cancer Awareness Month
As a pet owner myself, the last thing I want to think about is them having cancer. Sadly, “According to The Veterinary Cancer Society, cancer is the leading cause of death found in 47% of dogs, especially dogs over age ten, and 32% of cats. Dogs get cancer at about the same rate as humans, while cats get fewer cancers.”
