Coach unveiled its Spring 2027 collection in downtown New York City, marking the house’s 85th anniversary with a runway built on slim, straight silhouettes, loveworn materials, refined tailoring, inside‑out construction, expressive leatherwork, and subtle traces of a birthday celebration.
Vevers revisited the archetypes central to his Coach vocabulary—the trench coat, leather jacket, tuxedo, bias‑cut dress, and Western boot. Tailoring featured clean shoulders, narrow sleeves, and trousers that fall and pool at the ankle, bringing polished restraint to the street and countercultural references that have long shaped his work.
Outerwear spanned overcoats, blazers, and trenches with inside‑out constructions revealing linings and internal structure. Soft nappa leather added movement, while kisslock pockets nodded to Coach’s leather‑goods heritage. Other trenches appeared in garment‑dyed, sun‑faded heavyweight jersey, giving traditional tailoring the softness of a worn‑in hoodie.
Bias‑cut dresses and skirts formed a continuous line throughout the collection, shown in repurposed garment‑printed lining fabrics, overdyed georgette, repurposed denim, lamé, and sequins. Visible facings, cut edges, and decorative catch stitching exposed the making process, while knit and crochet sleeves could be added to dresses, tops, and outerwear for an improvised feel.
The palette moved from dove gray, soft brown, black, white, and natural leather into periwinkle, powder pink, mint, and reflective metallics. Sequins shifted from deep brown to pastel. Evening elements threaded through tailoring, leather, shine, and bias‑cut silhouettes.
Anniversary “party” touches appeared in metallic foil‑rubbed leather, confetti‑worked bags and shoes, glitter‑mixed nail‑polish finishes, and leather crowns, pointed hats, bows, gifts, and birthday cards crafted with the same precision as Coach’s outerwear.
Repurposing remained central: secondhand leather and denim were reworked into new garments; repurposed lining fabrics appeared across tailoring, dresses, tops, and pants; vintage Coach pouches were collaged into new bags.
Leather goods included the new Turnlock Tote in boarded leather and suede; the Inside‑Out Brooklyn; and multiple iterations of the Tabby, including decorative party finishes and the collaged Tabby made from sourced vintage pouches.
Footwear featured the new Hudson sneaker and a slouchy calf‑leather Western boot, both finished with metallic rub‑off, confetti, and glitter‑and‑nail‑polish treatments. Jewelry centered on crystal pendants inspired by chandelier prisms and Art Deco watch cases, plus a bow brooch. Accessories included leather crowns, party hats, wrapped gifts, birthday cards, gift tags, and everyday objects like sunglasses, a newspaper, a pen, a postcard, keys, and a whistle.
