SXSW 2025 Adds Creedence Clearwater Revival’s John Fogerty & Bluesky’s Jay Graber to Conference Keynotes

In March the city of Austin will be taken over with the South by Southwest® (SXSW®) Conference and Festival starting March 7th through the 15th. Celebrating the convergence of technology, film, television, and music, the 39th edition of the SXSW conference and festival has just added two new keynotes. Announced today, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and Grammy Award-winning lead singer for Creedence Clearwater Revival, John Fogerty, and Bluesky CEO, Jay Graber, have been added to the small list of keynote speakers.

John Fogerty

John Fogerty will bring his unique music industry perspective to the SXSW stage. Fogerty, the leader of Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR), created music incorporating equal parts blues, country, pop, rockabilly, R&B, swamp boogie, and Southern fried rock ‘n’ roll throughout the 60’s and 70’s.

The Grammy winner has been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame. He is the only musician to be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame for his song, “Centerfield,” a staple at baseball stadiums across the country. In 2023, John Fogerty gained worldwide control of his Creedence Clearwater Revival publishing rights after a half-century struggle.

“As of this January, I own my own songs again. This is something I thought would never be a possibility. After 50 years, I am finally reunited with my songs. I also have a say in where and how my songs are used. Up until this year, that is something I have never been able to do. I am looking forward to touring and celebrating this year! I want to thank Concord for helping to make all of this happen. And, I am excited for new ideas and a renewed interest in my music … like a revival,” said John Fogerty.

Into the Socialverse w/ Bluesky CEO Jay Graber

After publicly launching on February 6, 2024, Bluesky, a public benefit company building an open and decentralized standard for social media, has been surging in popularity with over 28M users and counting. Bluesky was initially a project kicked off by the former CEO of Twitter, Jack Dorsey in 2019 and became an independent company in 2021. After Bluesky’s formation, Jack chose Jay Graber as the CEO in August 2021, making her the first person to hold this position within the company.

With private platforms locking users in for too long, Jay Graber and Bluesky aim to fundamentally change the social media landscape and return choice to users. During SXSW, Jay Graber will focus on how we can take control of our online experience with “The Future of Social with Jay Graber” Keynote. Join Graber for a keynote conversation about social media and platforms with Mike Masnick of Techdirt during SXSW 2025.

Fogerty and Graber join the previously announced IBM Chairman and CEO Arvind Krishna as Keynote Speakers for SXSW 2025. Additional SXSW featured speaker announced today include President and CEO of Qualcomm Incorporated, Cristiano Amon, Author and founder of Backstage Capital, Arlan Hamilton, and Stand-up comedian, writer, actor, musician, and host of the podcast WTF with Marc Maron, Marc Maron.
