Met Gala 2026: Where & How to Watch

On Monday, May 4, 2026, the Met Gala returns with a powerhouse slate of co‑chairs, including Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and Anna Wintour, setting the tone for a night where fashion ascends to the realm of fine art. Hosted by Vogue, this year’s dress code is “Fashion Is Art.” The theme invites guests to approach the red carpet as a gallery in motion, transforming the Met steps into a showcase of sculptural silhouettes, archival references, and avant‑garde craftsmanship.

Long celebrated as fashion’s biggest night out, the annual benefit for the Metropolitan Museum of Art gathers stars, young creatives, and industry paragons in a dazzling convergence of culture, imagination, and couture.

While the looks stay tightly under wraps until the first Monday in May, the presence of co‑chairs Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, and Venus Williams all but guarantees a red carpet defined by artistry, ambition, and unforgettable fashion moments.

Late last fall, the Metropolitan Museum of Art announced the Costume Institute’s spring 2026 exhibition, “Costume Art.” The show—set to inaugurate the Met’s new, nearly 12,000-square-foot Condé M. Nast Galleries—will consider depictions of the dressed body from across the Met’s curatorial departments, pairing garments with art objects spanning some 5,000 years.

Hosted exclusively by Vogue, the 2026 Met Gala livestream will be broadcast live across its digital platforms, including on YouTube and TikTok. To tune in on vogue.com, bookmark this page and follow along on Monday, May 4, starting at 6:00 pm EDT / 3:00 pm PST.

Historically, outlets like E! or streaming bundles (Peacock, Hulu Live) sometimes cover it—but 2026 is primarily digital-first via Vogue. If TV coverage appears, it’s usually secondary to the Vogue livestream.

The Met Gala takes place at The Metropolitan Museum of Art each year. Guests from out of town (and even some based in the city) typically stay at hotels nearby, congregating at a few celebrity-favorite spots. The Mark Hotel is always a prime location for star-spotting; see our photos from inside its halls in 2023.
