Frameless motors, or flat motors without the usual housing, allow for a high power density and reduced robot size and weight. However, they require technical sophistication and a clear understanding of the application design. In this webcast, Robotics Business Review will chat with Joe Martino and Scott Hamilton, sales engineers at maxon precision motors, about the benefits and challenges posed by frameless motors.

Maxon has previously provided such motors on a custom basis, and it recently began selling them as a standard offering. They will also compare conventional and frameless motors and describe potential uses for smaller, lighter motors in robots. Webcast attendees will also receive maxon precision motors’ comprehensive installation guide for its frameless motors.
