Cutting edge technology, creativity, and innovation are what makes or breaks your VR/ AR experience. This especially applies to VR interactive music videos as there are some out there that should just be trashed or embarrassed to call their video a VR experience. The great news is when there is a good one out there it stands out from the rest like Titmouse’s new VR interactive video. The Emmy award-winning animation studio, Titmouse, had three announcements yesterday with one being their new “Show It 2 Me” interactive music video.
Titmouse announced the availability of the interactive VR music video, “Show It 2 Me.” It is available for free on Steam for the HTC Vive as well as on the Oculus Store for both Rift and Gear VR. The viewer gets to ride shotgun next to a demon woman surrounded by a bright neon 80s-inspired landscape that pulses to the beat. Below is the full video:
The “Show It 2 Me” interactive music video features art created by Chris Prynoski and Antonio Canobbio, Titmouse creative director, using the audio reactive brushes which animate to music in Tilt Brush. Earlier this year Google released the Tilt Brush Toolkit complete with brushes that animate to music, a perfect tool for Titmouse. In fact, all of the art elements were created using Google’s Tilt Brush virtual reality app and then placed into Unity.
The Second announcement was the launch of Gravy Time World Lens on Snapchat. Gravy Time from Titmouse is a community-designed Snapchat World Lenses being showcased as a part of Snap Inc’s launch of its brand new Lens Studio developer tool. Gravy Time can dance, gaze, levitate and sheepishly back away from wherever you point your camera. 
For the first time Snapchat is inviting artists and developers to create and share their own 2D and 3D augmented reality creations using Lens Studio.Brands on board include Netflix and BMW in addition to creatives, developers, and students.
Lastly, Titmouse revealed the second VR music video, Icarus 666, to be launched before the end of the year. Described as a fast Space Mountain VR ride with a metal symphony driving your spaceship, Icarus 666 samples a track from Brendon Small’s album released this summer, “Galaktikon II: Become the Storm.”
Brendon Small is the mastermind behind metal band DETHKLOK and albums “The Dethalbum” and “Metalocalypse: The Doomstar Requiem.” Icarus 666 is also available for free.
