During New York Fashion Week, Tanya Taylor, the womenswear brand, debut their Fall 2022 Collection with a cinematic runway video. Shown against the backdrop of the Elaine de Kooning House and Studio, the Fall 2022 collection embodies a nocturnal elegance with an artful point of view.
De Kooning’s boldness of spirit, creativity, individualism and artistic genius is the source of inspiration for the collection. De Kooning was known as a social bridge between artists and other members of the burgeoning downtown cultural community – as someone who has always brought the art world into fashion, and vice versa, Tanya saw herself in that.
This season is a step forward for the brand in expressing a new mood of femininity, elevated sense of silhouette, and strength of woman.
The collection experimented with modern fabrics such as bonded satins, metallic brocades, liquid lurex, matte jerseys, and velour knitwear. The prints are ink-washed, layered and silhouetted. Hardware is designed to look like sculptural art. The color story focuses on warm tones of butter, deep brandy and rich browns modernized next to snow blues, lapis, and azalea.
