SXSW 2020 Film Festival Unveils Second Round of its Program

On January 18th, 2020 we posted the latest SXSW 2020 Film Festival additions that included Featured Speakers, Features and Episodic Premieres. Today the SXSW Film Festival just announced the second round of its 2020 program, including the Midnighters, Festival Favorites, Shorts, Special Events, Episodic Pilot Competition, Virtual Cinema, Music Videos and Title Design Competitions, plus late-addition Features.

Per their announcement the SXSW 2020 Film Festival program has 135 Feature Films, including 99 World Premieres, 9 North American Premieres, 5 U.S. Premieres, and 75 films from first time filmmakers with 119 Short Films including Music Videos, 12 Episodic Premieres, 7 Special Events, 14 Episodic pilots in 2 curated programs, 27 Virtual Cinema projects, and 30 Title Design entries.

The SXSW Midnighters section is a festival film favorite for SXSW audiences with the weird, electric, and sometimes terrifying selections. Featuring 10 genre films, the slate includes dark comedies, thrillers, Sci-Fi, mystery, and slasher horror from a mix of established and first-time filmmakers. The Midnighters, Festival Favorites, as well as 10 additional films, round out the 135 total features now to be screened at the SXSW 2020 Film Festival.
