SXSW 2019 Update: Day-By-Day Highlights For Attendees to Consider

It’s unreal to believe SXSW 2019 is just over 100 days away! The kind staff at SXSW have put together a handful of day-by-day highlights to consider. They also have improved their SXSW email subscription for members by allowing you to choose the topics you want to be emailed to you. That is going to be super helpful while planning for SXSW 2019! Below is the latest SXSW 2019 highlights list I’ve received.

Friday, March 8: SXSW 2019 will start strong with a powerhouse opening speaker who will help usher in International Women’s Day. Find out who in the November 27 announcement. Tracks that start today include Design, Entrepreneurship & Startups, Future Workplace, Health & MedTech, Social & Global Impact, and more. And you won’t want to miss our iconic Film Festival, which kicks off tonight.

Saturday, March 9: The Coding & Development Track begins today — new for 2019, all content in this track is structured as extended-length workshops. Also getting started are the ever-popular Brands & Marketing and Entertainment Influencers programming.

Sunday, March 10: Start your day at our world-renowned SXSW Trade Show. We’ve expanded this space for 2019, giving you more access to up-and-coming and established businesses ready to network with you. And if you want to see some of the world’s top startups, be sure to attend the SXSW Pitch awards show.

Monday, March 11: The three-day Food track begins today, and the SXSW Interactive Innovation Awards have now moved to Monday evening — come on down to celebrate some of the coolest groundbreaking digital projects. Make way for music, the legendary SXSW Music Festival starts tonight.

Tuesday, March 12: This day brings together a wealth of programming from all the converging industries at SX, with content from 18 of the 25 total tracks. Also, join us in honoring the best in competition at the SXSW Film Awards.

Wednesday, March 13: If you haven’t already checked out the three-day Virtual Cinema, then March 13 is your last chance to take part in all the inventive activations.

Thursday, March 14: You won’t want to miss two of our hottest new tracks — Blockchain & Cryptocurrency and Cannabusiness. Lawyers will get into the act too, with three days of engaging CLE programming.

Friday, March 15: Game on! SXSW Gaming starts today at the Austin Convention Center (and goes through Sunday this year so you’ve got an extra weekend day to attend). Your Interactive, Music, Film or Platinum badge gains you entry into this action-packed event complete with exciting sessions, esports tournaments, hands-on play, and more.

Saturday, March 16: This is the final day of conference programming for 2019. It’s also your last day to pick up some way cool posters at Flatstock.

Sunday, March 17: End your SXSWeek experience on an athletic note at the annual BBQ and Softball Tournament at Krieg Fields. This eight-team co-ed tournament provides one more platform to make career-enhancing networking connections while enjoying tasty Texas brisket (and all the fixings).
