Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition Coming Soon!

The Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) was launched in 1991 and introduced classic games like Super Mario World, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Super Mario Kart, Super Metroid and F-ZERO. I remember it like yesterday when my original Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) and its gaming cartridges became obsolete as the Super Nintendo Entertainment System was launched. Everyone HAD to have it and seemed to be an over-night success. The console introduced advanced graphics and audio to be competitive with current gaming console on the market like Sega. The development of a variety of enhancement chips integrated in game cartridges helped to keep it competitive in the marketplace. Soon the SNES became the best-selling console of the 16-bit era and remained popular well into the 32-bit era of its time.

Now, 26 years later, the infamous Super Nintendo Entertainment System is back, somewhat. On Sept. 29, the console is coming back to stores in the form of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition. Just like the launch of the NES Classic console Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition will be a mini version of the console.

The Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition mini system will contain 21 pre-installed classic games and can be plugged into any high-definition TV using the included HDMI cable. Two wired retro Super NES™ Classic Controllers are included for multiplayer gaming right out of the box. The Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition is compatible with the Classic Controller™ and Classic Controller Pro™ accessories as well.

The Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition will also include one HDMI cable and one USB charging cable with AC adapter. The Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition launches on Sept. 29 at a suggested retail price of $79.99.

Currently in the US pre-ordering of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition is not an option. I also want to inform readers there are people already selling the system that isn’t even on market on different sites. Watch out for those scams and make sure their offer is legit! Interestingly, the UK has been able to start pre-ordering the Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition which seems a bit off in my opinion but as of today pre-order for them too are not available. As of now we just have to wait for the news from Nintendo when the US can pre-order the Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition. I didn’t act fast enough to get the NES classic Edition launched last year and no longer available to purchase that I won’t let that happen again!
