South By Southwest 2018: Film, Music and Interactive Announcements and Weekly Updates

South By Southwest (SXSW) Conference & Festivals held in Austin, Texas is less than a month away commencing on March 9th and running till March 18th. The discounted registration rates ended on February 9th, therefore, the rate for a SXSW Badge will be the walk up rate going forward. There have been several new additions and announcements for SXSW this week. There have been new SXSW Film Festival program additions, new 2018 Music Conference Additions, new 2018 Showcasing Artist Additions, and the announcement of 2018 Interactive Innovation Awards Finalists. Below are the newest additions and announcements for the above conferences or events:

SXSW Film Festival program

This week the remainder of the SXSW Film Festival program including the Midnighters, Shorts, Virtual Cinema, Music Video, Title Sequence, and new Independent Episodic lineup, plus late-addition Features and the Closing Night Film for the 25th edition of the Festival was just announced. These 12 additional films, which are included in the 132 total features now to be screened at the SXSW 2018 Film Festival.

Also announced this week, The North American premiere of Wes Anderson’s highly-anticipated Isle of Dogswill close the 2018 Festival. Set in Japan, Isle of Dogs follows a boy’s odyssey in search of his dog. Cast: Bryan Cranston, Koyu Rankin, Edward Norton, Bob Balaban, Bill Murray, Jeff Goldblum, Kunichi Nomura, Akira Takayama, Greta Gerwig, Frances McDormand, Akira Ito, Scarlett Johansson, Harvey Keitel, F. Murray Abraham, Yoko Ono, Tilda Swinton, Ken Watanabe, Mari Natsuki, Fisher Stevens, Nijiro Murakami, Liev Schreiber, Courtney B. Vance.
