Polaroid Snap Instant Print Digital Camera

Instant print cameras, portable printers and DIY photo booths have been a social favorite for years especially with the explosion of the selfie. I recently purchased the Polaroid Snap Instant Print Camera after researching if I wanted a portable camera that connects to my smart phone or an additional device all together.Considering I use my iPhone for videos and pictures for my technology or fashion articles I decided a separate instant camera with printer would be a better solution. My reasoning is based solely on when I am in fast paste environments like SXSW or CES I have no time to wait for something to print and need to do a lot of camera burst or quick video broadcasts.

The Polaroid Snap Instant Print Camera is a 10 megapixel digital camera with an integrated printer. The camera also has a MicroSD Card slot for digital pictures. The Polaroid Snap Instant Print Camera has 6 picture modes: normal, black & white, vintage sepia tone, Polaroid border logo format in normal, black & white and vintage sepia tone. The camera has a mount on the bottom it and on the top of it has a self timer button.

The integrated printer on the Polaroid Snap Instant Print Camera uses 2″x3” Zink® Zero Ink® paper and prints automatically when image is captured. By using ZINK Zero Paper the Polaroid Snap Instant Print Camera does not need ink cartridges or a printer ribbon.  Polaroid ZINK Zero Ink Paper is smudge-proof, water-resistant, and tear-resistant with a sticky back. The Zink Zero Paper is compatible with Polaroid Snap Instant Print Camera, Polaroid Snap Touch, Polaroid Z2300 and Polaroid Zip instant photoprinter.

When loading the Snap you must first insert the blue barcode card and then the paper. After the blue barcode card runs through the printer you are all set to start taking pictures. It was pretty simple to load and figure out with no instructions but they also have a user guide online located here.

I started taking pictures immediately and my new puppy, Layla, was the model.  There were some trials and tribulations when I first started taking pictures. I couldn’t figure out what direction I needed to hold the camera to use the polaroid border. Finally I got it!

Next I tried the camera without the border (which was easier to do obviously). One thing I do want to point out that made my pictures a little blurry was first taking pictures of a puppy is impossible but mainly because I was not sure which image the camera caught timing wise since it does not have a preview window.

The Polaroid Snap Instant Print Camera also takes digital pictures while also doing the instant picture feature. In order to do digital pictures with the Snap you must have a MicroSD Card. Once the MicroSD Card is inserted you are ready to take digital pictures and import them to your PC.

I tested out this feature since I have a MicroSD Card and was impressed with the quality of the digital pictures. Retrieving your digital pictures is pretty simple as well by using a USB cord. If you were to view the below digital picture of Layla full screen you would notice the great amount of detail of the rocks and bushes.
