In January 2021 at CES, 1MORE, the premium audio brand, unveiled their newest true wireless headphones, the ComfoBuds. The ComfoBuds have a 13.4 mm extra-large dynamic driver that reproduces natural and authentic sound true to original recordings.
The earbuds feature Bluetooth 5.0 ACC (Advanced Audio Coding) HD audio with a 10m range. With a weight of only 3.8 g, the ComfoBuds earbuds are ergonomically crafted with a semi in-ear design.
Designed with instant pairing technology, the earbuds connect automatically (after initial pairing) with your device once you open the case. The auto play & resume feature allows the infrared sensor to automatically pause music playback when you take the earbuds out of your ears and resume when you put them back on.
Perfect for working from home or working out, the four built-in ENC (Environmental Noise Cancellation) microphones effectively suppress outside noise while amplifying your voice. The ComfoBuds are also IPX5 Water and Sweat Resistance which means they can resist a sustained, low-pressure water jet spray.
Product Review:
1MORE sent us the ComfoBuds, which is our first pair of semi in-ear headphones to review after we attended the CES 2021 All Digital Experience in January. When you unbox the ComfoBuds you will find, headphones x 1pair, charging case x 1, type-c charging cable x 1, and user guide x 1.
After unboxing you find just holding the ComforBuds in your hand with or without the case, they are light in weight and tiny! The ComfoBuds come already charged and ready to pair as soon as you take them out of the charging case. In order to power them on, simply take the earbuds out of the case as there is not a power button and they will automatically pair to each other
As soon as they pair to each other they will blink blue/red until they pair with your device (make sure your device’s Bluetooth is on). I’m not sure if it’s because I have several 1MORE products connected to my iPhone but it literally took seconds to pair!
The ComfoBuds’s do have tap controls for phone calls and playback functions. Initially to set this up you will need to tap on the stem of the bud so you are able to first activate the controls, to which I did with no issues. To use the controls for phone calls and playback you simply just double tap on the stem of the buds, for me this somehow also activated my Siri.
If you are wanting to control the volume or change the song through the buds you will need to set up the 1MORE MUSIC APP. Please note you will need to have your earbuds powered on and in your ears to set up the controls in the app. Through the app you be prompted to go through a short user guide tutorial. After the app found my connected ComfoBuds, I was able to set up my controls through the app.
Like most 1MORE audio products, testing was a breeze, and the audio was superb! One of my favorite features is the automatic power on as soon as you take them out of the case and the pairing. Using “tap” to control the mic and playback was also a first for me and thought it was a nice feature as well though I think I’m a button type of person.
To be honest, I’ve always been either a sports band or in-ear headphones type of consumer but after trying these semi in-ear headphones my views have changed! These also seem to stay in my ear a lot easier than the typical in-ear headphones.
All in all, for the comfortable fit (which is always an issue for my small ear canals), the audio quality and retail price 1MORE’s ComfoBuds are a great alternative to the Apple Airpods.
