TBS has been adding new comedy shows and game shows that become big hits like “the Last O.G.,” “Drop The Mic,” “Snoop Dogg Presents The Joker’s Wild” and “the Guest Book” for the past couple years. Announced this week TBS is adding a new series, Misery Index, which will include the stars of truTV’s Impractical Jokers. The Games Adults Play™ card game, Shit Happens® inspired this brand-new comedy game show.
The Shit Happens collection was created by former SNL writer, Andy Breckman and the game entails 200 shitty situation cards ranked from 0-100 according to The Misery Index.
TBS will be adding 10 episodes of the half-hour comedy, Misery Index, to its lineup. The creators and stars of truTV’s Impractical Jokers, Brian “Q” Quinn, James “Murr” Murray, Joe Gatto and Sal Vulcano, will serve as recurring panelists. Collectively known as The Tenderloins, these experts in humiliation will team up with civilian players to compete for the weekly cash prize.
The new game show will consist of two teams of three that includes one civilian player and two Tenderloin teammates. Each episode teams will compete against each other by attempting to determine the ranking of hilarious and miserable real-life events, based on the Shit Happens cards.
The Misery Index game show is developed by comedy writer Andy Breckman and the series is executive produced by Breckman, the Newmarks, Howard Klein of 3 Arts Entertainment, and Rob Anderson, who will serve as showrunner.
Per deadline.com, Misery Index will join TBS’ hit game shows Snoop Dogg Presents The Joker’s Wild and Drop the Mic, the top two new unscripted cable comedies of 2017, which anchor the network’s game show comedy block on Sunday nights.
