New Misfit x Atari 50th Anniversary Capsule Collection- Artist Edition JK5 Launched

Atari®, the developer of arcade games, video game consoles and home computers, is celebrating its 50th anniversary in a collaboration with Misfit, a platform that pairs limited edition merch drops with legendary artists. Teaming up with world-renowned artist JK5 (aka Joseph Ari Aloi), the New Misfit x Atari 50th Anniversary Capsule Collection- Artist Edition JK5 was launched today on NTWK.

The one-of-a-kind “Capsule Collection” features collectibles inspired by Atari’s timeless influence and includes an assortment of wearables. It includes an exclusive wrist watch inspired by JK5’s original artwork ($85), limited-edition artist print poster ($20) and ultra-collectible hoodie embellished with over 500 Swarovski® crystals ($300, only 25 made).

The limited-edition collection explores JK5’s favorite Atari environments and characters, including Adventure, Baseball, and Asteroids, layering them on top of one another to create a celebratory new world that commemorates some of his most illustrative childhood memories.

Misfit x Atari 50th – Artist Edition JK5 Wrist Watch Features:

  • One-of-a-kind watch display stand inspired by Atari’s iconic joystick controller

Born in 1970, JK5 recalls not only the launch of Atari’s first gaming console but the hours upon hours he used to spend with friends playing the games. “Summers were spent riding BMX bikes around town with friends in search of arcades,” said JK5. “ To say Atari was a formidable force in my childhood is an understatement. When I was asked by Misfit to take on designing a collectible watch celebrating Atari’s 50th anniversary, I jumped at the chance to translate my childhood into a piece of art.“

In looking towards the next 50 years of Atari and the next generation of fans, Misfit is giving away two limited-edition Atari VCS consoles and joysticks, embellished with over 5,600 Swarovski® crystals depicting JK5’s artwork.

The specially-designed sets will be available to win exclusively on NTWRK on December 5, 2022, and during the AtariX Twitch tournament, where fans will take part in scheduled games and activations during the period of December 6th through December 22nd.
