Mobile World Congress Returns to Barcelona Summer 2021

It has been announced that Mobile World Congress (MWC) is planning for an in-person tradeshow from June 28th through July 1st at the Fira de Barcelona Gran Via Convention Centre. MWC Barcelona is attended by global mobile operators, device manufacturers, technology providers, vendors, and content owners.

With the current travel restrictions and for the first time ever, MWC Barcelona attendees now have the option to connect with industry decision makers remotely online. In the past year, the addition of digital products that aid virtual attendance allows connecting to become easier, more accessible and even smarter.

Also recently announced and as part a new 4YFN partnership, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) will support the MWC event’s focus on sustainable development, hosting sessions and developing digital content that showcases social impact examples. The content will feature in the Future Society section of the MWC21 website. It will highlight how mobile services, such as COVID-19 track and trace and digital health facilities, are developing in terms of use for the good of everyone worldwide.

The UNDP will also be an Impact Ecosystem Partner for 4YFN, the most influential event in the world for start-ups, investors, corporations, and institutions to connect and launch new business ventures. At 4YFN, UNDP will launch ‘The Women Innovation Programme’.

Themes for Mobile World Congress Include:

Connectivity

COVID-19 has proved how valuable staying connected is. But with delays to launching 5G, the spotlight has also fallen on legacy technologies to deliver life’s ‘new normal’. Find out who the real winners will be in a hybrid-5G world.

Connected Industry

5G has become a catalyst for next generation IoT services and technology is solving pain points for many industries including FinTech, Manufacturing, and Health. But amidst a global health crisis, how can mobile develop its solutions and business propositions, to adapt for the long term?

AI

A recent report showed that 84% of C-suite executives believe leveraging Artificial Intelligence will achieve their future growth objectives. With investment set to top £170 billion by 2025, where should investment be prioritised?

Startup Innovation

In times of uncertainty, it takes innovation to safeguard a company’s future. Join us at 4YFN, the startup business platform where corporations and startups collaborate with each other and discover how new tech will influence us in the future – and four years from now.

Future Society

COVID-19 highlighted the importance of strong, ethical and fact-based leadership. But what role will tech play in the post-lockdown world? Can we get rid of some “bad” habits as a society and grab this opportunity to drive positive and socially effective policies alongside technology for all?

Creative Technology

During COVID-19, streaming platforms quickly flooded the market to deliver content to you. New streaming services have all been launched over the last 12 months. But is this fragmentation in your customer’s best interest?

Customer Experience

The customer journey needs to be simple, tailored and engaging. Customer insights are key to creating campaigns and promotions tailored to the target buyer. But in such a crowded digital market, how can brands continue to innovate and stand out?
