Below is the Meanwhile Brewing Co. Schedule Announced:

July 28th @ 8:30 – 10:30 pm: Monthly Movies on the Pitch – The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou

Starting next week through October, the last Wednesday of every month will heretofore be known as Wes Anderson film day at Meanwhile Brewing Co. as they launch their monthly movies on the pitch series. Grab your ticket for their inaugural screening of The Life Aquatic and make your way to the soccer fields to kick back and watch this off-beat nautical classic on a 40′ inflatable screen by Rocket Cinema. Guests in costume will receive discounted beverages. This is a ticketed event. Purchase here.

July 29th @ 7:00 – 9:00 pm: Blaggards

Long-time musicians host a night of Irish Celtic music. Free admission. RSVP here.

July 31st: Jane Claire @ 8:00 – 8:45pm/ Light Wheel @ 9:15 – 10:00 pm

Jane Claire is an electronic producer and musician. She pulls sonic and visual influences from the likes of Björk and Frank Ocean, her South Texas hometown, the Gulf Coast, cellulite, and slow coffee in the morning. You may recognize her name as an Austin creative producer, founding member of BossBabesATX ( now Future Front Texas), and founder at Group Work. Free Admission. RSVP here.

August 1st: Jack Greenwood @ 6:00 – 6:45 pm/ Belldiver @ 7:15 – 8:00 pm

Free Admission. RSVP here.

August 3rd @ 7:00 – 9:00 pm Buffalo Nichols – in concert

Buffalo Nichols is Meanwhile’s treasured resident musician, playing the first Tuesday of every month for the remainder of the Summer. For all the moonlighting he’s done in other genres over the years, Carl Nichols always comes back to the blues. At various points in his career, Nichols has played gospel (despite being an atheist), West African music (despite being born and raised in Milwaukee) and, as one half of the acclaimed folk duo Nickel & Rose, Americana (despite having some deep reservations about that genre’s long history of appropriating black music without always welcoming black musicians). None of those gigs, however, extinguished his desire to play the kind of traditional, acoustic blues he grew up admiring. Free admission.

August 4th @ 6:00 – 9:00 pm: Meanwhile Brewing Co. FridaFridayATX Market (First Wednesdays of every month.)

August 5th @ 7:00 – 9:00 pm: Blues in the Night

Blues in the Night, a four-piece band (harmonica, bass/vocal, guitar and drums) specializing in Blues, R&B/Soul and Swing. Free admission. RSVP here.

August 7th @8:00 – 10:15 pm: The Eggmen: Beatles Tribute Band

For over a quarter of a century, The EggMen has entertained audiences with the music of the best band ever…The Beatles! Recognized by The Austin Music Awards as the “Best Cover Band” for 11 years, the group has played hundreds of shows, including The Governor’s Christmas Ball. Come out and enjoy 3 sets, each with its own period-correct instruments and costumes. The first set is full of early Beatles hits, played in matching stage suits; the second consists of songs from their later period, dressed in psychedelic garb; the third features songs from other bands from the sixties played in groovy, mod clothing. Whether it’s your first or fiftieth Eggmen experience, a splendid time is guaranteed for all! This is a ticketed event. Purchase here.

August 7th: Dough Boys x Distant Relative PIZZA COLLAB in celebration of Dough Boy’s Anniversary

August 8th @ 7:00 – 9:00 pm: Carver Commodore

This rock and roll band of Alabama boys will be making a stop in Austin, TX before heading up the east coast to finish out their summer tour. Self-identified as kings of sweat, truck stop enthusiasts, and potted meat connoisseurs, the all-male quatro is known for their modern rock anthems, fusing indie, garage, and pop into epic, “stadium worthy” guitar hooks. Free admission. RSVP here.

August 14th Doors 7:30 pm/ Tåsi 8:00 pm/ Teethe 8:45 pm/ alexalone 10:00 pm

Austin’s Alex Peterson (they/them) is the center at alexalone. Known by some as the live bassist for Hovvdy and Lomelda, Alex wears many different hats. Alex’s various skills and interests speak to their curious, imaginative character, a quality conveyed through their own variation of introspective, genre-pushing shoegaze and drone music. Earlier projects attracted the attention of NPR, Post Trash, and most recently the Austin Chronicle, who described their Demo(n)s demo tape as “dispatches from another planet.” ALEXALONEWORLD by Polyvinyl Record marks their official foray into the world as a fully-formed act, featuring Alex’s friends Sam Jordan (he/him), Mari Rubio (she/her), and Andrew Hulett (he/him). This is a ticketed event. Purchase from Eventbrite here.

August 15th Carrie Fussell 6:00 – 6:30 pm/ Aubrey Hays 6:45 – 7:15 pm/ Half Dream 7:30 – 8:00 pm

Half Dream is a dream folk band based in Austin, TX comprised of Paige Renée Berry (guitar, vocals), Jake Ames (lead guitar), Bryan Dalle Molle (drums), and Vanessa Jollay (bass, harmonies). Formed in 2018, Half Dream began with the name and songs of Paige Renée Berry and changed their moniker to reflect the ethereal and collaborative nature of the sound. Paige Berry’s songwriting explores identity, overcoming trauma, & moving past fear. Floating melodies find punch in driving hooks that highlight vocal subtleties, landing somewhere between dream and tenuous reality. The band’s debut album was self-released on October 23, 2020, with an east coast tour to follow in 2021. Free admission. RSVP here.

August 22nd Jacon Alan Jaeger 6:00 – 6:45 pm/ Magnolia Kids 7:15 – 8:00 pm

August 29th Johnny Goudie 6:00 – 6:45 pm/ Nathan Harlan 7:15 – 8:00 pm

If you’ve been around Austin for a few decades or so, you may recognize Goudie from his namesake 90’s glam rock band that started right here in the capital city. While still without a band name, he and his four fellow members played 7 shows in one day for the SXSW showcase in the spring of ‘98. The stunt resulted in a record deal with Ulrich, scouted by Dan McCarroll and Metallica’s Lars Ulrich. The group’s five-year career resulted in two albums, numerous tours, and a cult-like following. Free admission. RSVP here.
