Shortcut Labs, a Swedish Consumer Electronics company, just released their newest smart home control, the Flic Twist, on Kickstarter. Awarded the CES Innovation Award Honoree, the Flic Twist is a controller for smart home technology such as smart lights and connected speakers.
The Flic twist is a combination of a wireless smart button and a wall dimmer that is simple to install. In fact, users can mount it on the wall wirelessly using the included magnetic wall mount with screws or adhesive. It also features lights along its perimeter that guide users as they interact with it.
The core innovations with Flic Twist are in its software. It can manipulate simple interactions such as pushing and twisting into very sophisticated dimming journeys. Users can engage wall plugs or routines as they dim up the lights or have the product blend smoothly between different light scenes.
Advanced users can use a single Flic Twist to alter the states of up to 12 different things. These can include anything from dimmable lights, volumes in different rooms, playing playlists from your Spotify library, IFTTT commands, and much more.
Flic Twist brings simplicity to the smart home and the entire family instead of voice commands that need to be remembered or apps that need to be installed.
