Audeze Mobius Premium 3D Gaming Headset Review

We recently received the Audeze Mobius Premium 3D Gaming Headset to review and unboxing the headset is an experience all in it’s own. The box includes:

  • Mobius Headphone
  • Detachable Microphone
  • USB-C to USB-C cable
  • USB-A to USB-C cable
  • Analog 3.5mm cable
  • Quick Start Guide
  • User Guide and Warranty
  • Travel Bag

The Mobius headset comes fully charged out of the box. The power button is located on the left ear cup and once you power on you will hear “Power On.”  After I powered them on I was ready to pair them to all my devices. Pairing the headset via Bluetooth is simple by double clicking the power button. Once the headset finds a device you will hear “Pairing.” I paired it with my iPhone, Samsung Galaxy S10 and my PC in no time.

In order to have the 3D experience you must first press the “3D button” on the front of the left ear cup. There are three 3D modes: manual, automatic, or 3D off and to cycle through each you just do long presses the 3D button. I chose manual, which after you center your head and press the 3D button the headset will indicate “centered.”

I first tested Mobius with my iPhone first just with music, which felt like I like I was actually at a Foo Fighters concert due to the Surround Sound Technology. I then tried “Need for Speed” just on my iPhone. After testing that I tried playing “Need for Speed” on my Samsung Galaxy S10 that I broadcasted to my TV with my gaming racing chair and all! The 3D emulation and audiophile-grade cinematic sound was mind blowing.

Next, I tested Mobius on my PC with Apex Legends Season 7 Ascension via steam. I honestly didn’t think the Surround Sound could be better, but it seemed so much more immersive on my PC. Even the 3D experience better! The one thing I loved was the complete noise cancellation, even when not playing music or gaming you can’t here much outside noise.

This is just a first look product review of the Audeze Mobius Premium 3D Gaming Headset as I’m not done reviewing yet. In the next review I will be testing out the Audeze HQ app which allows you to customize your listening experience with personalized HRTF parameters and sound profile selection.

To get the app to work you do need to download the Audeze Reveal+ Plugin and will need DAWs and playback software. I currently have an older version of ProTools so I will be getting the new version to test out this feature. I also need to test the headset out on more games to fully try out the head tracking technology.

The Audeze Mobius Premium 3D Gaming Headset retails for $399.99 and can be purchased here: https://www.audeze.com/products/mobius. To learn more about Audeze please visit: https://www.audeze.com/.
