Festival de Cannes 2019 Information and Tips for Attendees

The Festival de Cannes is already in full swing starting yesterday, May
14^th with full Red Carpet attendance. This year Festival de Cannes is May 14^th through the 25^th of May in Cannes, France. Though we aren’t able to make it to Cannes we wanted to provide all our readers some tips if you are attending the festival this year. OPENING HOURS

Beyond the Palais des Festivals and the Riviera, the Festival Zone stretches from the International Village Pantiero to the International Village Riviera up to the Cinéma de la Plage. The Festival zone is accessible for accreditation badge-holders via all entrances from Tuesday 14 May to Saturday 25 May. The Marché du Film is open from Tuesday 14 May to Thursday 23 May.

FREE ADMISSION

Open-air screenings at the Cinéma de la Plage are open to all.

PROFESSIONAL BADGE-HOLDERS

On presentation of your professional badge, you will be admitted to screenings of movies in the Official Selection held in the Debussy, Buñuel, Bazin, Soixantième, Olympia theatres, within the limit of available places. Your badge also affords access to the Cannes Short Films viewing areas.

INVITATIONS

An invitation is required to attend screenings in the Grand Théâtre Lumière and at 8:30am in the Debussy Theatre. Invitations are strictly personal and are not transferable. Accepting an invitation implies that you agree to be photographed and/or filmed.

Two Gala screenings are held every evening in the Grand Théâtre Lumière. Invitees should bring their badges and attend at the correct time and place in front of the Red Carpet Steps as shown on their invitation. Black tie/evening dress is required for gala screenings.

For all other screenings appropriate smart dress is sufficient. Invitations are strictly personal and may not under any circumstances be sold to a third party. Any infringement of this rule may incur legal action.

LAST-MINUTE ACCESS

Depending on the number of places still available, badge-holders who were unable to obtain an invitation may attend all screenings in the Grand Théâtre Lumière and at 8:30 in the Salle Debussy, Every year, 3,000 people benefit from the Last-Minute Access.

TV FESTIVAL DE CANNES

You can find Festival de Cannes TV as of May 14 on the official channels YouTube and Dailymotion as well as on the Festival’s website and mobile app. Festival de Cannes TV, co-produced by CANAL +, Orange and the Festival de Cannes, covers the red carpet, press conferences and photo calls. It is broadcast in French and English in the Palais des Festivals and some hotels on the Croisette, and is also available on channel 19 in the CANAL package and channel 29 of Orange TV.
