Churchill Downs Announces Limited Edition Digital Collectibles by Fanaply for Kentucky Derby 147

With the Kentucky Derby week underway, today Churchill Downs Racetrack announced that it is launching a limited series of non-fungible tokens (NFTs), created by Fanaply. Per the announcement, there will be four different limited-edition NFTs released throughout the week, all inspired by some of the most popular products sold in conjunction with the Kentucky Derby.

The Kentucky Derby NFT offerings will include digital versions of:

  • Standard Kentucky Derby 147 Mint Julep Glass
  • Gold Edition Kentucky Derby 147 Mint Julep Glass
  • The Post Position graphic, commemorating the starting gate order for Kentucky Derby 147
  • The Official Art of Derby, the artwork featured on the annual commemorative posters, as well as program covers for Kentucky Derby 147

“We’ve witnessed in recent months the fascinating rise in popularity of NFTs for various leagues, teams, athletes, artists, and musicians,” said Jill Gentilli, Director of Licensing for Churchill Downs. “It felt natural that we develop and launch a limited series of Kentucky Derby-themed digital collectibles to complement our traditional slate of popular physical collectibles.”

The Kentucky Derby-themed NFTs will be produced and sold by Fanaply, a leader in developing NFTs for the world biggest fans in sports, music, and entertainment. Fans and collectors interested in viewing, purchasing, or bidding on the limited Kentucky Derby NFTs can visit Fanaply.com, or more specifically, https://fanaply.com/kentuckyderby

“Bringing limited-edition digital assets to the Derby experience is central to Fanaply’s belief that NFTs are about so much more than just speculation,” said Grant Dexter, co-founder and CEO of Fanaply. “They not only let fans commemorate a significant experience in their life, but can be used as a powerful tool for fan engagement. We’re product to be working with visionaries like Churchill Downs to offer these unique new items.”

The agreement between Churchill Downs Racetrack and Fanaply was facilitated by CAA Sports Licensing, the licensing agency for Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Derby.
