This week Big Sean, G.O.O.D. Music / Def Jam Recording artist, announced his North American “Unfriendly Reminder Tour” which will include a show in my hometown, Austin. It’s about time Big Sean! I’ve been waiting a while for Big Sean to perform in Austin as I’m a huge fan.
The “Unfriendly Reminder Tour” will be produced by Live Nation and the tour will consist of 31 cities commencing with Orlando on April 12th. The tour will feature performances by rapper, Playboi Carti and will also include opening sets from Shy Glizzy and GASHI. It is said that Big Sean will perform fan favorites spanning his entire discography, going beyond a normal album tour.
The theme of the “Unfriendly Reminder Tour” will be a celebration of Big Sean’s decade long career signed to G.O.O.D. Music and pay tribute to his fans. They also announced that each fan will be able to vote and choose their top 20 songs for their cities and help create the set list from his entire discography. Voting began yesterday and only at uknowbigsean.com. 
This is a fantastic concept and if I go to the Austin performance I will definitely be doing a set list. Another cool aspect of the tour is that all stops will have brand new tour merchandise available and in select cities fans will have the option to customize handpicked pieces. Personalization at its finest!

I hope to attend the Austin show on the 19th though the venue is way out there. It’s actually not in downtown Austin instead it’s in the burbs of Cedar Park at the H-E-B Center. A trek for a Big Sean fan who lives in the SOCO district in Austin proper. About Big Sean
Sean Michael Leonard Anderson was born on March 25, 1988 in Santa Monica, California[3] to Myra and James Anderson. When he was 3 months old, he moved to Detroit, Michigan, where he was raised by his mother, a school teacher, and grandmother.[2][4] He attended the Detroit Waldorf School and graduated from Cass Technical High School with a 3.7 GPA.[5] Big Sean is often heard saying “west side” in his songs; he is referring to the west side of his hometown Detroit, Michigan. In his later years in high school, Sean gained a valuable relationship with Detroit hip-hop station WHTD; he would show his rhyming skills on a weekly basis as part of a rap battle contest held by the station.[6] In 2005, Kanye West was doing a radio interview at 102.7 FM. Hearing about this, Sean headed over to the station to meet West and perform some freestyle. Initially West was reluctant to hear him, however he gave Sean 16 bars to rap for him. According to Big Sean, West enjoyed his freestyle: “As we get to the entrance of the radio station … we stopped in the middle of the doorway. He starts looking at me and bobbing his head,”.[7] After the freestyle, Sean left West his demo tape. Two years later, West signed Big Sean to GOOD Music. Sean has cited West, Eminem, The Notorious B.I.G., and J Dilla as his influences.[8][9]
