Austin Startup Week 2018 is Less Than a Month Away; Are You Ready?

Austin is one of the top 10 cities in the nation to move to if you’re interested in a career in technology or wanting to launch a startup. Austin is home to over 1,700 local startups and the numbers keep increasing as more people move there.

Furthermore, the Austin chamber’s Beverly Kerr has stated she drew on the latest annual U.S. Census Bureau estimate that as of July 2017, the Austin and Round Rock MSA’s population totaled 2,115,827, up 55,269 from 2,060,558 the year before. It’s clear that Austin is growing fast and the number of startups at this rate will increase more throughout the next couple of years.

To celebrate Austin’s startups their annual Austin Startup Week is less than a month away with day one commencing on October 1st. Austin Startup Week is five days of events with different organizations and meetups that support them.

Since 2011, organizations and startups have opened their doors and hosted events for both locals and visitors who are interested in learning more about the startup scene in Austin.

Last year Austin Startup Week was packed full of over 100 events consisting of morning coffees, a startup career fair, educational panels, regular meetups, happy hours, workshops, a Battle of the Tech Bands and a “startup crawl.” Since this event is about startup and entrepreneurs most of the 100+ events organized in 2017 were free and open to the public–no badges required–drawing in 7,500 attendees and visitors from around the country.
