ACL Just Announced Their Lineup And Here is Some Key Information You Need To Know if Attending

The Austin City Limits Festival (ACL) just announced their 2018 line up and it is phenomenal! The two-weekend festival is October 5-7, 2018 and October 12-14, 2018. Headliners include Sir Paul McCartney, Metallica, Childish Gambino, Travis Scott, Artic Monkeys, ODESZA, and The National. Check out this full line up for the entire festival just announced!

As Austinites we wanted to put together a nice list to get your prepared for ACL or if you can any questions on the festival. Our list includes Ticket, ACL Cashless, Allowed and Prohibited Items, hotel and restaurant information.

TICKETS

ACL Tickets do go up in price as the festival gets closer therefore I suggest buying them sooner than later. To purchase your ACL ticket visit their Tickets page where you’ll find more details on each festival ticket type. Below is the current list of tickets available.

  • 3-Day General Admission Ticket: Enjoy all three days of the festival and the entire lineup.
  • 1-Day General Admission Ticket: Get access to the specific artists performing on any given day you buy a ticket.
  • 3-Day VIP Ticket: All the access of a General Admission Ticket with added comfort and class.
  • 1-Day VIP Ticket: All the access of a 1-Day General Admission Ticket with added comfort and class.
  • 3-Day Platinum Ticket: Upgrade your ticket for greater access and an enhanced experience at the festival. Platinum ticketbuyers have access to the platinum-only air conditioned lounge, viewing areas directly in front of the main stages, golf cart shuttles, and more!
  • 1-Day Platinum Ticket: Upgrade your ticket for greater access and an enhanced experience for one day of the festival. Platinum ticketbuyers have access to the platinum-only air conditioned lounge, viewing areas directly in front of the main stages, golf cart shuttles, and more!
  • Hotel Packages: Receive a 3-Day General Admission, VIP, or Platinum ticket along with lodging near the park and festival merchandise.
  • Children 10 years-old and younger will be admitted free of charge with a ticket-holding adult. Limit 2 children per ticketed adult.

ACL CASHLESS INFORMATION:

Instructions on how to register for ACL Cashless will be included when you receive your wristband. Below are the steps to follow:

  1. Go to aclfestival.com/wristbandprovided and activate your festival ticket with the unique ID (located on the inside of your wristband)during which time you can link your credit card to your wristband and set a required PIN for security.
  2. ACL attendees with a cashless wristband can order at any bar location and select vendors.
  3. Tap your wristband, add a tip amount and enter your PIN.

It’s truly a sign of times when the allowed and prohibited lists for festivals and events continues to grow. Per ACL below is their guidelines of both allowed & prohibited Items. Note if attending they are strict on these guidelines; I suggest to read through all the below.

ALLOWED

  • Bags will be restricted to small purses and draw string bags and may not exceed 14″ x 11″ x 5″ (35cm x 28cm x 12cm).
    • Backpacks and bags with multiple pockets are prohibited.
    • Camelback’s are allowed, but must be empty and have only one additional pocket.
  • Binoculars
  • Blankets, Sheets, Towels
  • Strollers
  • Cameras (basic point and shoot consumer-grade cameras) without detachable lenses and other accessories (monopods, selfie sticks, tripods, GoPro mounts, and other attachments are not allowed)
  • GoPro cameras without accessories
  • Portable/collapsible chair (Individual seat only; no double wide or connecting chairs)
  • Sunscreen lotion (no aerosol containers)
  • Bug Repellant (no aerosol containers)
  • Empty hydration packs (smaller than 18 L)
  • Empty Water bottles (plastic or aluminum). For Yeti type hydration rambler the max size is 36 oz
  • Water – you may bring two factory sealed bottles of water (up to 1 liter each) and refill them throughout the day at our free water filling stations
  • Physician-prescribed medication that is not expired (must show physician’s prescription and consult with a safety officer upon entry)
  • Totems, rage sticks and flags under 12 ft. tall are allowed for way-finding among friends. Items that are deemed by Festival organizers to be unsafe, inappropriate, offensive or are being used for purposes other than intended are prohibited and may be confiscated on site

PROHIBITED

  • Aerosol containers (including sunscreen and personal beauty products)
  • Any and all professional audio recording equipment
  • Any and all professional video equipment – no video recording will be allowed
    • Professional cameras (any camera with the option to detach a lens)
    • Any and all camera accessories, such as selfie sticks, tripods, monopods, go pro mounts and attachments, detachable lenses, or other commercial equipment
  • Drones or any other remote flying device
  • Camping or Tent setups. Includes camping umbrellas, tents and cordoning off your chairs with tape/rope
  • Coolers of any kind (exceptions may be made for medical use)
  • Framed backpacks
  • Hammocks
  • Glass containers of any kind
  • Firearms, explosives, and weapons of any kind (including pocket knives, pepper spray, fireworks, etc)
  • Illegal and Illicit substances of any kind
  • Drugs or drug paraphernalia
  • Outside food or beverage (including alcohol) of any kind, except 2 factory sealed bottles of water (up to 1 liter each)
  • Umbrellas
  • Professional-grade radios or walkie-talkies
  • Pets (except service animals)
  • Skateboards, scooters, bicycles, wagons, carts (including red wagons) or any personal motorized vehicles
  • Tents, canopies, or shade structures of any kind
  • Unauthorized/unlicensed vendors are not allowed. No unauthorized solicitation and materials including handbills, flyers, stickers, beach balls, give-aways, samples, etc.
  • Large chains or spiked jewelry
  • Bicycles inside the festival grounds (free parking is available near festival entrance)
  • No Inflatable furniture (rafts, chairs, etc.)
